Where the climate is at its most unforgiving, and where the roads don’t always promise a smooth ride, that’s where we build our caravans and motorhomes. This means that you get a caravan built to withstand the toughest scenarios – no matter the weather or countless hours on the road. Each caravan that leaves us is tested thoroughly to guarantee that it is completely watertight, ensuring that your Polar can overcome all the challenges in its path. In this, we are unique in the industry.
Down to the tiniest detail. With breathtaking precision. Painstaking meticulousness. And with pride. That’s how we build our caravans and motorhomes. A Polar is an example of artisan craftsmanship. An achievement created by real people, built mainly by hand in our modern factory in the town of Dorotea, deep in the Norrland region of Sweden. Our steadfast ambition is that every single caravan we produce should be the best on the market. One sign of our success is that a whole 80% of all the Polar caravans we have ever made are still on the road. A Polar is the epitome of authentic Norrland quality.
We craft the interior details ourselves and the materials are, wherever possible, sourced from local providers. In order to guarantee the highest quality throughout the entire production process, all interior fittings in the whole caravan are assembled and installed by the same fitter.
We know what’s needed to enable you to stay wherever you want, all year round. Always with the same comfortable indoor climate. Where other manufacturers do spot checks, we test every single one of our caravans in a climate chamber. We expose the caravan to 36,000 litres of water and gale-force winds for a whole hour. One of our test specialists sits inside the caravan, taking humidity measurements and checking that all of our stringent quality requirements are fulfilled. So, when your caravan leaves us, we know with certainty that it will be able to handle everything thrown at it.
We who work at Polar are caravan owners ourselves. The fact that we experience our caravans in exactly the same way as our customers sows the seeds for many new ideas, showing us what needs to be developed. New floor plans with children’s rooms, fold-up bunk beds, internally developed construction and insulation technologies and integrated mosquito nets in all windows are just a few of the examples where the spark of an idea has become reality.
Unmatched water tightness and the thickest insulation on the market with 37 mm EPS insulation in the walls. The way we build our caravans also blocks unwanted noise from making its way in.
Keeps the cold out in the winter and the heat out in the summer.
The way we build and assemble our caravans results in unbeatable driving characteristics. The way the caravan looks is almost irrelevant. The caravan’s responsiveness is perfect even on windy and bumpy roads. Our caravans have the market’s sturdiest bodywork, thanks to such features as the floor’s plywood joins being assembled with special reinforcing plates.
In 1988 we began to test our caravans for water tightness before delivery to the customer. Today we test every caravan that leaves the factory.
In the 1970s, we introduced a new construction technology which resulted in an extremely strong, watertight build.
In order to facilitate water run-off and reduce air resistance, we build our caravans with double pitched roofs.
We drive the development of practical and efficient solutions One example is the incinerator toilet, making life in the caravan even easier.
Thanks to the development of our own electrics system, we can offer Wifi, alarms and GPS that you can control via a mobile app.
